Garni Strasek Bed & Breakfast: What a find!

This was a very good find. The Garni Strasek is very close to the main street of Portoroz and also to the bus station, although we came by car and they had parking. This is off the main street, so nice and quiet and much better than staying in Piran as you cannot take your car in and there is more to do in Portoroz

Friendly owner, nice rooms with duvets, good TV with loads of satellite channels in English, Italian, German etc. Fridge in the room and I was able to log on with my laptop to their internet connection.

Very nice breakfast too

Garni Strašek: Great Pension, freindly hosts

very nice modern rooms, nice private balcony. Right in center, and next to concert hall.

Freindly staff. Their daughter lives in San Diego, (My home town)!

Some Options To Stay...

Here, I mention some options to stay the nights in Portoroz :

Lucija Camping Ground. South east of the marina at the end of Cesta Solinarjev, less than 2 km from the bus station.
Opened from May to September. Charge per person is 1400 to 1600 SIT.

Private Rooms. Maona Travel Agency has private rooms & apartments. Romms cost from 3800 to 4800 SIT per person. Getting a room for less than 3 nights will be difficult ! You have to pay a 50% supplement.

Hotels. Portoroz has 20 hotels. Hotels here are expensive in the summer months.
