Center of Madrid, Part of Melia Hotels (2)

Best (5.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on June 8, 2015

part two of my Innside Madrid Suecia Tips with more Pictures inside

Innisde Madrid Suecia is part of the Melia Hotel Chain of Spain.which is a local chain that got big and now operates 330 hotels in 37 countries on 4 continents under the brands Meliá, Gran Meliá, ME by Meliá, Paradisus, Innside by Meliá, TRYP by Wyndham, Sol Hotels and Club Meliá.

This Innside Madrid Suecia is located along the Calle del Marqués de Casa Riera beside a Huge Theater called the Circule De Bellas Artes (the only problem for tour buses shuttling guest is that you cannot park at the street as it is small, you are drop off at the Calle Del Alcala, about a 30 meters away from the hotel. The Hotel is popular for the tour companies that is why we stayed here for 2 nights. The Hotel is at the former Hotel Suecia and it has 12 floors and 127 rooms and suites and the rooms typical european standard of 24 Square Meters and the shower area is separate from the toilet and is transparent (if you are a family, this will be a problem but if you are lovers, then not a problem). The rooms are modern and are pretty roomy even though it is only 24 square meters in area. A Night in a De Luxe Queen or Twin Room here with breakfast is 156 Euros a night including breakfast.

The Hotel has one restaurant (Dado Deli Restaurant, where the breakfast is held) and Two Bars (Lounge Bar and Pool Deck Bar).

Check In time is 3:00 Pm and Check Out Time is 12:00 pm

Unique Quality: The rooms are roomy although small (but not as small as other hotels as it is 24 square meters, other hotels are only 20 square meters or less) and modern and with surround speakers, other amenities include free wifi at all areas, Flat screen TV with Satellite Channels and PPV, In Room Safe, Minibar (with free non-alcoholic drinks which is a rare occurence among european hotels everywhere), Climate Control air conditioning / heating, iPod dock, Bathroom with large rain shower (again is transparent), Free use of Swimming Pool at the 11th floor, Bathroom Toiletries (again no toothbrush and toothpaste). There is no ironing board though and no universal plug so you need to bring your universal plug adaptor.

breakfast is at the Dado Deli Restauant at the ground floor from 6:30 am to 10:30 am

Since it is in Madrid City Center, the hotel is near the famous locations such as:

100 m from Gran Via
200 m from Plaza de Cibeles
600 m from the Prado Museum
700 m from Chueca
700 m from Calle Gran Vía
800 m from Puerta de Alcalá
800 m from Plaza de la Puerta del Sol
800 m from the city centre
1 km from Plaza de Callao
1 km from the district of Salamanca

Suecia Hotel

Great (4.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on March 18, 2006

Hotel Suecia is is a large hotel in a fabulous location (which is what visitors to Madrid always request) It is different from many city hotels in that there are two complete non-smoking floors (again -- what most of our clients request but in Spain a difficult thing to find). Rooms are uniquely decorated, some with terraces. The decorative style of the hotel is Swedish (Suecia means Swedish in Spanish). Extensive renovations were made in 2000 to this well-located hotel. The hotel opened in 1956 and Ernest Hemingway chose it as his home in the late 1950's because of its proximity to the most important art and cultural centres in the city. In the heart of the city, it is 12 km. to the airport and there is a bus stop and metro station within a minute's walk.
