A chic place to stay in the heart of the city

Best (5.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on September 5, 2006

From the very moment we checked in, the staff - casual yet extremely courteous, if not a bit snooty - managed to make us feel like we were the only guests in the hotel.

Unique Quality: The Hotel Urban is one of the hippest places to stay in Madrid. The hotel is also partly an ethnographic museum, as the decoration combines futuristic and elegant scheme in dark tones with an important collection of antiques and handycrafts from the most exotic countries. The result is a sophisticated, somewhat posh and definitely *urban* atmosphere with no rival in such a central location in Madrid.

The museums on the Paseo del Prado, the Retiro, the picturesque Madrid de los Austrias and the animated Litterary District are all within walking distance from the hotel.

Directions: The Hotel Urban is located facing the Lower Chamber of the Spanish Parliament (Congreso de los Diputados) on one of the main roads of old Madrid.

Best bath in Madrid

Best (5.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on February 20, 2006

This Hotel is full of artistic objects, it has own egyptian museum and all interieurs are made by designer.
I can say it is very well done.
Service has been unusuall good, I did not except so good and fast service in Spain ;o)

Unique Quality: The best thing has been the bath. It is maybe 1,5m next to the bed, between bathroom and bedroom is just glas.
I was taking a bath almost every day of our stay. Once a friend of me came into our room and she loved this bath same as me, so we went in together, just to enjoy this bath....

Directions: near to Paza Mayor
