Turgutries Anadolu Otelcilik ve Turizm Lisesi: Great facilities at unbelievable budget rates
This isn't your ordinary tourist hotel. In fact, there wasn't a single foreign tourist at the hotel when I was there, all local (Turkish) tourists. According to someone I've met there, they don't really have a market for foreign tourist in the hotel as (1) it's unknown to them (2) out-of-the way, it's located 3 kilometers from Turgutreis beach and maybe 20 kilometers from Bodrum (3) it's not a totally commercial property.

The "Turgutries Anadolu Otelcilik ve Turizm Lisesi" is actually a hotel built for the young students (I think high school or like a polytechnic school) where the student learn and practice tourism. The young staff are composed mostly of really young kids aged 16 years old and up. They have their own building that houses their accommodation and the school within the premise or hotel complex. After graduating, they're already skilled and can find job elsewhere...or prefer to work at the hotel.

Location-wise, it's along the highway, you may not like it as a foreign tourist as it's far from Bodrum city and no beach to boast of but it's surrounded by mountains. Turgutreis beach is 3 kms away by minibus, costs about TL2 and TL5 from the hotel to Bodrum.

The hotel has a beautiful large swimming pool with a kids pool. It has big indoor breakfast hall plus an equally spacious outdoor dining option under a bamboo straw shades where you can sit for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

70 rooms in total housed on a 4-storey building. The huge lobby resembles a 4-star hotel furnished with nice sofas, couches and tables in every corner. The mezzanine has small corner for internet browsing with about 3 or 4 computers. They also have a convention/meeting room and function rooms. Amenities = aside from the swimming pool - are tennis court, bar at the lobby and poolside.

The room I got has king bed and a single bed and big enough to move around. Bathroom is also big with liquid soap & shampoo. TV, big desks and cabinets and I can't really count how many clean white small and big towels are there laid down on the bed - several. It's a clean room, ceramic or marble flooring, airconditioned with a big fridge. Very comfortable, with a window overlooking the orange plantation below and mountain on the backdrop.

The assets of the hotel aside from its facilities are the staff. Since they are students, they offer the best service possible, no complaints and no rudeness that usually is present in some commercial hotels. Friendly service, with a smile and politeness.

I'm sure you excited to find out how much is the rate of the room --- the hotel looks like a 3 or 4 star hotel, for me, so I thought it's expensive, but a ----

Single person bed & breakfast costs ....... TL35 or about EUR15! Full-board at TL55 / EUR23.

Unbelievably cheap, right?
Excellent staff, great facilities, clean big rooms, nice swimming pool and cheap rates.

Mars Hotel: budget option
the owner of the hotel approached us upon arriving at the bodrum bus terminal. i think it's a common practice in touristic towns of turkey to have at least a rep of a hotel at every bus depot or terminal to offer their beds/rooms to arriving tourists - well, at least that's a real convenience for people who haven't got a clue where to stay.

we stayed 2 nights at Mars Hotel. 3-bed room though small it's ok, painted in odd colours - green or blue or tuquoise, tv is there with turkish channels, a small swimming pool right at the main gate where no one is taking a dip. it's quiet at the hotel, so if you're looking for happenings and guests mingling, maybe not but we only stayed for 2 nights and there's nothing in the evening there (or even the morning). only a place to rest after maybe an evening of rendezvous around bodrum.

it's a budget hotel, so if you only need a place to sleep with a decent breakfast of sliced tomatoes, cucumber, fruits, bread and butter & jams - then this is okey.

costs only TL20/head, so TL60 for the 3-bed room

it's in turgut treis street, so we have to meander through the big and small streets and alley for 10 minutes or so before reaching the marina, 15 min. or so walk to carsi. about 5 or so walk to the mausoleum of halicarnassus ruin and a distant walk to the castle of st. peter.

Green House Apart Hotel: Gumbet
the staff at this hotel were so friendly and worked so very hard long hours
The rooms could have been cleaner especially the kitchen worktops and bathroom but did not spoil the stay

Riffat makes the best english tea in Turkey xx to Riffat

we stayed in may when resort was just waking up after winter and it was pleasant but think it will be banging in summer, more a place for the young and lively during high season, this said we are planning to return in september. The food was realy good in the restraunt and prices were on par with rest of resort.

Advise people who have problems with stairs to request a ground floor room as there is no elevators and lots of stairs, have to go down stairs to pool area and bar and restraunt
Pool is very clean and deep, second pool behind bar that not a lot of people know about
Close to beach, exit hotel turn right turn right again and walk on
It has to be said the beach is nothing spectacular, gravel not sand, no where for children to play as whole area taken up by sunloungers, (that are free to use) and most served by bars so can have waiter service while you soak up the sun.
Surrounded by places to eat, spoilt for choice, but highly recomend hotel restraunt

Villa Derya: A Villa with views to die for!
We've been to Turkey many many times and love the place. Out of all the places visited the town of Gundogan is our favourite. Its 20mins from Bodrum so you don't have the noise and hassle but still have convience if you wish. Have a look at this website for more info and accomodation:

http://www.villainbodrum.com/

Have agreat time!

Su Hotel: Bodrum's best small hotel
This is a great little hotel with first class staff. Set in the backstreets of the ancient city, it's quite amazing to walk down a narrow path to find a wonderful environment, complete with a beautiful pool and garden. We stayed for a week and the service was really excellent - not too intrusive but they were always there to cater for our every whim. The staff have a good knowledge of English which meant that we could explore the town with good guidance.

It's close to the harbour and the shops, so we could walk everywhere we went, although it was tempting to just hang around the pool. We loved the town - so much to see both in Bodrum and all around the penninsular. There are great beaches at Bitez and Autokent, and it was worth seeing the sunset in Gumusluk. The really coool people seem to be in Turkbuku, but if you are on a budget it's a bit expensive for the ordinary tourist.

Great time - there is a good restaurant which was better than most of the restaurants in town and the service was impeccable.

Thoroughly recommend.
Clean decent sized rooms with good towels and air conditioning.

Really good pool.

Stunning environment, with lovely garden.

In the centre of the town so no need for a car.

Okaliptus: Beautiful and inexpensive hotel
A small very well designed hotel with classic (Greek) white cube look and feel located in Bitez bay. A lot of greenery - flowers, eucalyptus trees, etc. Friendly personnel speaks English well enough to communicate. It's very quiet in buildings farther from the restaurant and swimming pool. Not so quiet near the beach - music all day long. The territory is small so don't expect a lot of privacy.
The food is eatable but not for a gourmet. We paid for HB, and had to put up with breakfast and dinners, but usually had lunch in nearby restaurants.
Rooms are big and clean enough. A double bed room has an individual conditioner with a remote control, a TV, a desk, a fridge, a couple of chairs and a small table. A safe box at reception for additional fee.
I think the hotel is well worth the money and is suitable for people who can entertain themselves and are satisfied with basic service.
If you prefer to stay in Bitez bay, you’ll find it’s a quiet place with a lot of hotels, bars and restaurants along the sea front.
There no special facilities for children except the hotel pool , a playground near the marina and a trampoline closer to the mosque. Turkish kids are usually friendly and have no problems playing with foreigners, even if they don’t understand the language of each other.
60-80% of tourists in Okalitus are Turks. This means if you see somebody’s drunk – it’s a European. Though during a week-long stay I have not seen anybody being drunk, aggressive or rude.

If you want some additional entertainment you can get to Bodrum by dolmush(a route taxi). It costs 2 Turkish liras and takes ~15 min. The route is Bitez-Bodrum, departure from Bitez mosque.

Look at 35 photos of the hotel following the website link below.
Beautiful architecture, lots of trees, good rooms, pool, great view at night, sun beds, hammocks and umbrellas on the beach and at the pool are free of charge. Food is poor.

Heredot Apartment: Self Catering With Style!
We spent 3 weeks at this top quality rental in bodrum this summer and I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to stay cheaply but with great facilities. Heredot Sitesi is located just 10 minutes walk from the town centre on a hill with lovely views of the bay. The apartment we used was G3 a top floor, two bedroom flat that sleeps 6 (double sofa bed in living area also). The owner has done a wonderful job decorating the place in a stylish and minimalistic way. He has supplied all kitchen equipment you could possibly need and gives his tenants free water in a cooler. The bedrooms are fantastic - spacious, clean and cool. There is a roof terrace for use by renters too. The apartment has a washing machine, tv and dvd player, microwave and stereo. There are two balconies that provide a view and an outside eating area.
The site where this apartment is situated has a lovely pool area with loungers. The family who caretake the site are wonderful and so helpful - they will order taxis and help with suitcases etc. Rooms are cleaned weekly. The apartment costs £395 per week in high season which is excellent quality if you have 4-6 people staying there. Dale the owner is also a helpful contact once you are in Turkey and answered many phone queries. He arranged our transfers and while in the UK supported me in finding suitable flights. Great service!

Villa 4 Seasons (Dört Mevsim Pansiyon): A good price pension
We stayed only one night, so the important thing was the price. Clean beds, air condition, TV, bathroom is not the type I would prefer but enough.
A great view of Bodrum and the sea (very close to the beach and center, you can walk in 10 minutes)

Hotel La Rosa: Hotel La Rosa
Allocation on arrival job via Thomas Cook.

Decent *** hotel which is situated just outside Gümbet centre, but makes up for it by having great local services at the bottom of the hill, which include shops, a cafe, a barbers etc etc.

I was the only person staying in this hotel as the season was just about to begin, so the level of service I recieved was excellent.

There is no lift in the hotel, although it is only two stories high, with rooms complete with a french window overlooking the pool.
The hotel is a short walk into Gümbet, and at the bottom of the hill, you can catch the dolmus to either Gümbet or Bodrum for a very low cost.

Late Deal Sun Holiday: Hotel Ilge / Mavi Yakamo2
Resort of Gumbet was adequate - fairly quiet but the hotel was terrible. The accommodation was basic to say the least, no water or electricity for part of the stay. Had to request sheets/ blankets/ clean towels/toilet roll/bins emptied as visits by staff very infrequent. Music pumped from the almost empty bar until early hours of the morning and nothing was down if a complaint was made and almost every day there was a public slanging match between hotel staff and guests. I'd like to hear from other people who have stayed hear especially within the last 3 months
With the weather in Turkey the only thing that could be described as ok was the pool - but only if they kept the music to a reasonal level

Salmakis Resort and Spa: An hotel with a view.
The Salmakis hotel is large, spacious and has an incredible view over the bay. There are two pools, a jacuzzi, steam room, turkish bath, small man made beach, a pool bar, a reception bar, a hairdressers, massage facilities and a restaurant with tables out on a very large patio. There are marble floors and the reception area is very tastefully decorated. The room we were in was clean with a fridge, TV and air conditioning. We had requested a sea view but didn't get it. Our terrace was surrounded by flowering plants which was nice. view would The staff were great especially the dining room staff who had been working split shift seven days a week all season. The food was excellent the first week but declined slightly the second week. The hotel has many stairs and we got into quite good shape while we were there but the hotel would be no good for anyone with mobility problems. Although on the outskirts of Bodrum city towards Gumbet, it was only a 15 minute walk into town and there was a regular water taxi from the beach. The dolmus stopped right near the entrance so getting around was easy.

On the negative side, the bar prices were high - eg: small beer in hotel 5 lira. Large beer elsewhere 2 - 3 Lira. A small bottle of water was 2.50 at the hotel and 50 kouros at the corner shop. Needless to say not too many were drinking at the hotel bar.

The other negative was the scrub and massage. My husband and I went together and the bloke that was doing the massage had hands that went places they shouldn't which was very uncomfortable. I would recommend that if anyone wants a massage and scrub they go to the one in town near the bus station as it seems to be the safest. I have since read a number of complaints about the massages from other hotels.

There was no entertainment at the hotel while we were there possibly because it was the last two weeks of the season.

For the view and the location I would recommend the hotel but we will probably stay somewhere smaller ourselves next time.
Brilliant views, lovely staff and good beach for swimming - it is fairly shallow for about 50 feet out.

Hotel Gozegir: Clean and nice hotel
It's a nice 3 star Hotel in the center of Bodrum, by the seaside. Clean and has an air condition which is very important. Rooms has no balkony, it would have been better actually if there was a balkony... There's also a TV in the room but I don't think you would watch TV staying in the Hotel instead of walking around or having fun... It was about 40$ last year.

Affola: The most comfortable stay ( A boat )
I have been taking this kind of holiday for about 15 years, but this time was the most luxurious and relaxing of them. The cabins were very clean and well furnished, and they changed the towels and the sheets every day. We ate every day from a table with a white table cloth, and a young waiter was always ready to serve us what we want. The rooms were airconditioned, and because they have generators we could use and charge our computers too. The captain went fishing underwater every day, and eating the best quality fresh fish and other seafood was only one of the many pleasures these meals gave us.
