Well Positioned

Good (3.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on September 10, 2007

This was my home during the weekdays for eight months. Access to the Don Valley Parkway or Don Mills Avenue is excellent. Parking is adequate although there is an additional $10 charge per night. There’s only one entrance/exit and in the winter the sloping roadway gets icy but seldom is it treacherous. As a frequent customer, I was usually on the fifth floor and often the same room. The rooms I did stay in were uniformly clean and well appointed. There is free wireless internet access, and there are several servers to cover the entire area. This is something that only repeat visitor would probably notice, and the only impact is that you’ll want to choose the server with the greatest signal strength on subsequent visits.

Unique Quality: Each bed has seven pillows and if you find one you like the pillows and other bedding is available for sale on the hotel web site. There is a well appointed fitness room in the basement open until 10pm each night. This includes an indoor and outdoor pool as well as a hot tub area. Eventually, as a long term repeat customer you’ll be given a coupon for a free beverage at the bar and free breakfast for each night’s stay.

Wait for construction to be finished

Bad (2.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on August 23, 2007

The front desk staff was mixed. One lady was rude and didn't seem to be of any real use. The man, on the other hand, was professional and helpful. The room was aged, with the toilet flushing inconsistently and the fixtures somewhat dirty. The pool area was nice, but the pool itself was filthy with water that seemed to have an excessive amount of urine in it. The jacuzzi had water that was about the same temperature as the pool.

Construction is taking place on a new parking garage and the equipment was roaring away directly (measured in feet) outside the room window. It's understandable that progress must be made, but I was told they finish at 5pm on weekdays, even though it was 5:30 when I asked. The male front desk clerk did, however, accept my request to cancel my reservation without charge after the construction continued past 6:30pm.

Although I was completely unsatisfied and left, I'm providing it with two stars since it may be a better experience when the construction is complete and you can actually relax in your room.
