Super 8 Manhattan KS

Great (4.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on April 27, 2015

We needed an inexpensive place to stay for one night, close to the Konza Prairie Preserve, since my husband had to be up very early to go look for Greater Prairie Chickens, which were booming at the end of March. The Super 8 fit this bill. The rooms are comfortable, if not luxurious, and have a large TV, small fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. No closet - there is a clothes rack attached to the wall, and the ironing board is just leaned up against the wall. We got a free breakfast in the morning (pastries, oatmeal, make-your-own waffles, coffee & juice), and free WiFi. Very close to a shopping mall and many restaurants.

The front desk staff was friendly, if over-tasked (it took a couple of minutes to get someone to check us out in the morning, because the front desk clerk was also cleaning up and restocking the breakfast area). No worries though. :-)

Super De Duper!

by written on July 30, 2003

This Motel has 87 rooms and has a 24 Hour front desk. The hotel offers non-smoking and smoking rooms, continental breakfast, exercise room, and guest laundry.

I have never had the opportunity to stay in one of the hotel rooms, however my friends and coworkers have. When I asked what they thought about the room, a couple of them said "aged" and another said they got what they paid for. I am not sure if that is a good or bad thing.

I have had experience with the use of the conference room a number of times. The conference room is a decent size and can fit about 50 people at a time. They offer the use of audio/video equipment if you wish for a nominal fee.

The hotel has been there for numerous years and therefore it is looking its age. I don't recall the hotel ever having a remodel, but I do know that they have recently had new management.

Unique Quality: Most of the rooms come with standard amenities, such as an alarm clock, and basic cable TV. Rooms come with a single king, or two queen beds. The king rooms have an oversize desk and recliner. They have a mini suite comes with an oversize desk, a minifridge, and coffee maker. There is free local phone calls, and data port phones.
