Hotel suited for a Family

Bad (2.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on May 7, 2007

Due to its huge number of rooms, service is compromised. Rooms are not up to standard and quite old. Located in the northern part of the Strip, it is quite a walk to the Strip Center. One needs to pay for internet connection in the room. Long lines during check in and check out even in its restaurants. Families will find this hotel good as there are lots of attractions for children like rides and circus all day.

Best for Children

Great (4.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on May 6, 2007

Stay at Circus Circus if you have little children and book your family on the Manor since it is closer to the hotel's swimming pool. You can bring your children everyday at the pool especially when it gets too hot in the desert!

Get the coupons at the front of the hotel and it gives you $4 discount on the All-Day pass for the rides at Circus Circus. It is best to buy the All-Day pass than the single passes since you and your children can go back and get to ride again. You save a lot of money that way!

Unique Quality: The Manor House is very close to the swimming pool and the parking is just outside the hotel. You don't have to walk blocks and blocks away to get into your car. You can actually buy a lot of food outside and just store it in your car and you can always have easy access to your hotel.

Hope you like clowns

Great (4.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on February 16, 2007

I had heard mixed reviews about this place, but stayed there anyway. I liked it. Yes the walls were thin and the bed was uncomfortable, but I think thats pretty standard in Vegas. We stayed in the West Tower on the 35th (top) floor facing the strip. I booked on the Circus Circus website and got a packeage deal with 2-for-1 buffet, 2-for-1 at one of their restaurants, a free pitcher of margaritas and a coupon booklet. All that for $41 (including tax) a night, on a February weekday.

Unique Quality: The picture was on our wall, it was kinda a creepy picture. There were other circus pictures in the room, so if you have a fear of clowns, stay away from this place. The restaurants were all good. The midway and circus acts were nice entertainment when we didn't want to gamble and didn't want to leave the area.

Directions: North end of The Strip

Family Fun in Vegas

Good (3.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on February 10, 2007

A great place for families with kids, plenty to keep them entertained, amusement rides, arcade games, mid way, and circus acts. Fun for adults too. There is plenty of gaming to meet your gambling needs, a variety of shops and restaurants on site. Can be a little noisy and a lot of children moving through the main corridors. Be prepared for long walks to get out of the casino to the strip, wear good walking shoes. The staff for the most part were fairly helpful, slow service in some of the restaurants. The rooms were clean but older decor..circus theme of course.

Unique Quality: Amusement rides, Circus mid-way, A Variety of casino gaming, Access to pool area could have been a little better maintained.

Circus Circus Hotel and Casino

Bad (2.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on May 16, 2006

When my family and I moved to Arizona, we stopped in Las Vegas for two days. We booked at Circus Circus, and let me tell you, it wasn't that great. We got put in a room where you had to cross a busy street to get into the main food court area, and also where the kids stuff were. The elevators didn't work half the time. I had the elevator shut on me twice while I was carrying strawberry shortcake. I was furious. The room was great for about 45 dollars a night, and it was clean. I will say that one good thing about the hotel. It seemed more adult oriented there than for children. It seemed that the casino took up more space than an area for the children to play in. Oh well, I guess you can't have it all. I would have to give this hotel a 6 out of 10. It wasn't great, but if I had to stay hear again, I would.

Unique Quality: Wonderful view of the Stratosphere. Room was spacious and comfortable. Bungee Jumping out back.

A funland for any age!

Best (5.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on February 17, 2006

As we were on our second leg of our two city trip, this was the second hotel we stayed at. Compared to Ramada Hotel in Manhattan, New York that was crammed and slightly dirty - Circus Circus was like a palace! The decor of the rooms was beautiful, we each had a double bed to ourselves and could call anywhere in Las Vegas for free with our hotel room telephone. The bathroom had a humungous mirror which was ideal for 2 girls! It was well kept and marble and mirrors was the general theme!

The hotel cleaners were very thorough and came every morning and were patient even when we wanted to have some more time before they burst in with their cleaning kit. We were so impressed that we made sure we left them a good tip!

Basically, this is a brillant hotel for kids as well as adults, I was 19 at the time and my sis was 23 so we thought that this hotel would be too childish for us before we left London - but we were proved wrong. There is an indoor theme park actually in the hotel complete with roller coasters! I didnt actually go to the theme park, but we did sample the restaurants. We ate a 16 inch pizza which cost about $11, it was so big that even between the two of us we couldnt finish it and had to eat the rest for breakfast. I do think people over indulge when it comes to food and drink in this city as like a lot of the States - portions are generally twice as big as in the UK so be careful when you order anything other than a small portion!

Unique Quality: Quite simply - how many hotels do you know that have their own indoor theme park complete with rollercoasters!

Directions: North end of the strip.

Circus Circus

Bad (2.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on January 14, 2006

circus circus...this hotel was a circus of disorganisation!!
hotels this size are far too big to be personal or really have the customer in mind.
it took us around 30mins to check in and the girl who dealt with us was unfriendly and barely spoke (we were unlucky as other receptionists seemed very friendly )two words during the whole process.
our room was big, clean and the bathroom huge but we looked onto an rv park.
the elevators in this place in no way cope with the amount of visitors as it took us 20 mins to get from our room on the 14th floor to the lobby, this also meant changing lifts as the lobby lift does'nt go to the 14th floor!!
on a positive note the buffet breakfast was good and great value for money.
there are better hotels in las vegas with better positions on the strip....if your fit then walk the strip as he trolley bus is good value but far too slow.

Just "so so"

Bad (2.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on December 4, 2005

As our flight was seriously delayed, we arrived in the middle of the night, totally exhausted. And...the hotel was overbooked. Not enough beds. The hotel proposed a "roll away" bed. No problem, such a futility wouldn't ruin our stay.

Only... we waited and waited and they forgot to roll in the bed. We had to call 2 times before there was an extra bed... without sheets nor blankets. "Someone else would bring it"... still waiting!

Good that our "boy-and girl scout background" learned us to alwas preview a sleeping bag for in case ;-)

Unique Quality: No bad word about the room itself. It might be a 3 stars hotel in Las Vegas, in Europe this kind of rooms would be 4 or even 5 stars!

For thrill seekers of all ages: visit the adventure dome, with more than 15 rides. Great fun!

A disadvantage of this hotel is it's location at the end of the Strip, out of "where it all happens".

An Amazing place to stay!

Best (5.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on November 23, 2005

The hoetl its self is amazing. With its own indoor theme-park, shows, shops and casino, it is all that you could really want on a trip to the city of Las Vegas. The rooms were really big and POSH. The facilities were spotless and the regular circus shows were definately worth getting there 30 minutes earlier for a seat.

Unique Quality: Theme Park. Rooms. Shows. Views. Location (Right on the strip front)

Cheaper end of strip hotels

Good (3.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on October 27, 2005

Circus themed hotel as you can tell from its name. The rooms and facilities are adequate but you get what you pay. It's also on the far end of the strip, so it's walk to the main attractions on the strip.

Unique Quality: Circus shows

Time for a makeover

Bad (2.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on October 21, 2005

I went in here and quickly left. It seems like this Circus act has seen better days. I didn't stay here so I can't comment on the service or the rooms, but the atmosphere was very, very bland and.... tired.

Lesson #1: You Get What You Pay For.

Terrible (1.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on October 11, 2005

We ended up staying here because there was a big fight during a 3-day holiday weekend and most of the other hotels were full. This would not have been our first choice. Besides the pleasant front desk, there wasn't much else pleasant about our experience.

1)TV did not work. The TV would go off and on randomly. Upon advising maintenance, they shrugged their shoulders and said, "what do you want us to do?" We finally unplugged it.
2)The room was dirty. It was obviously not cleaned thoroughly. We found a pair of socks on the side of our bed!
3)The extension listed on our phone was for another room.
4)Escalators were out of order.

We stayed for one night. That was enough. Agree with previous reviews ,avoid at all costs.

a good deal going on

Great (4.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on August 27, 2005

Very good standard rooms. Like a maze to find your way around - especially if you are in the sky tower. The Buffet is great though slow to deal with a queue. Circus Circus is a great base for the Las Vegas experience. For families, the adventure dome is great.

Directions: You can't miss it - look for the circus tent and the very large clown signalling that you have arrived.

For family with young kids

Bad (2.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on August 12, 2005

Not very clean, located at the END of the strip. It's more for a family with young kids. It's far from all happening places.
This is one of the older hotels at the strip.

Expect a lot of noise! Poor housekepping.

Unique Quality: Free circus show.

Not a bad place if you're strapped for cash...

Good (3.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on March 24, 2005

Got here extremely late at night after a 14 hour car ride - no lines at check in at that point! Staff was pretty friendly. We were in the motel type rooms - not the tower, so it was a bit of a hike, but that was really the only complaint. Rooms were clean and quiet, but had a circus-themed decor which is very cheesy. These are the real cheap rooms - so it's where you get stuck if you take the lowest rate. Didn't get a chance to try the pool. On site restaurants are terrible - go somewhere else for the food. Casino is weak - go next door to Slots-of-Fun or Westward Ho for low-minimum games. The "pink" theme everywhere may throw off your sense of balance after a while....

Unique Quality: The huge stand-out here is the circus and circus games that are on the second floor above the casino. If you're going to Vegas with kids, this is the place to take them. Be warned that everyone knows this and there are TONS of kids on that level.

Directions: North end of the strip
