Information is danger

Terrible (1.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on May 23, 2011

Nothing special about the hotel... good location is its biggest +. Gave me a hard time with everything.. including check out.. I sat in the lobby for 2 hours waiting for their mistakes to get resolved...

What I would like to note is that I gave my email to this hotel and suddenly started receiving numerous spam emails indicating that my information was sold to a third party.

I would not recommend any place that engages in this type of behavior... certainly not good for business.

I had to move to this hotel after my reservation with Shoreham has came to an end. The best advantage this hotel has is the location, the large lobby, and safe access. The room is old fashion deisgn.
I had problem in connecting the hotel wireless networl, the wired net was ok but not what I prefer.

Unique Quality: The location

Just the Right Fit

Good (3.0 of 5.0 stars)

The Radisson Lexington Hotel is in an excellent location right on the corner of Lexington Ave. and 48th St. It's about a ten-minute walk from here to Rockefeller Center. It's also about five minutes away from Park and Madison Avenues. There is a subway stop about two minutes away as well.

The hotel is very nice and has a helpful staff. It is very popular with European and Japanese tourists.

Unique Quality: The Radisson Lexington has a really great sushi bar in the lobby as well as a Chinese restaurant and a Starbucks. It is also located within walking distance to many restaurants. It is a lot less expensive than many of its hotel neighbors, such as the Waldorf Astoria and the Intercontinental, which are located right nearby. The only complaints I have about the Radisson are that it's "climate control" system needs some updating. Our room was horribly roasting hot on both nights of our stay. I also really hated the Sleep Number Bed that was in our room. What a horrible bed! Don't pay any attention to those commercials!

Directions: On the corner of Lexington and 48th, half a block down from the Intercontinental Hotel.

The hotel is located a few blocks away from the UN and the 50th and Lexington Subway Station (E, 6, and some other lines). The hotel has nice rooms and somewhat comfortable beds. Washrooms are nice and there is hot water every morning (hey, in NYC, that is not always the case). No loud weird heaters in the rooms either.

A few drawbacks are the seemingly constant random morning fire alarms. I was here for 2 weeks and my cow-orker and I were woken on several occasions. No fire. No explanation. Geeze, how drunk was I? The club on the grond level can be heard all the way up to the 11th floor till 2am on party nights.

The restaurants in the hotel, one chinesse, and one wanna-be dinner/rip-off are OK. Instead of a $5 USD wonton soup go a couple blocks down to 37th to the Oriental Noodle house and get a kick ass soup for less. Raffles, the dinner on ground floor, charged $9 USD for eggs and bacon that sucked. It seems to be a place that wants to look Upper East Side bling and charge for it but yet still gives crap food and service.

Unique Quality: Bed's are adjustable for firmness. Remote control makes ordering porn really easy.... even when all you wanted to do was turn the damn TV off... grrr. Room prices was soooo variable and weird.

Our stay at the Radisson Lexington was very pleasant, the staff were very helpful and friendly and the location was great....even though we were getting lost all the time!! The hotel bar was very popular (although the bar staff should learn to smile!). I would definately stay here again.

Radisson Lexington Hotel New York

Great (4.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on August 18, 2004

The Radisson Lexington is located in Mid-Town Manhattan and offers very good value for the location. Standard room prices are $180 and up, however I have seen occasional internet rates for as low as $119.

Our 19th floor room was simple, with two queen beds, a view of several skyscrapers, and a TV with 40 or so channels.

The hotel also has a gym, a coffee shop, and a few restaurants on premises. There is no hotel parking, except a public garage across the street. After the front desk validates your parking stub, it will cost $19 per 12 hours.

This area has many restaurants of all kinds including Mexican, Japanese, Steak, Pubs and many others. The Green subway line runs along Lexington Ave, just in front of the hotel. The nearest station is at Lexington & 51st Street, just two blocks from the hotel.

Directions: On Lexington Ave, between 48th and 49th Streets.

Radisson Lexington gets a Grade of B-

Good (3.0 of 5.0 stars)

Just got back from a 3 night stay at the Radisson midtown. Room was small, but clean and comfy. Everything was in walking distance. One drawback was they turned off the hot water between midnight and about 5 am., which sucks when you're out late and want to shower off the city grime when you get back in. I wouldn't recommend the diner downstairs, although the bar served potent drinks. We didn't pay premium rates because we got a tour pkg, so I feel our $79 a night was well worth it. I liked the free fitness center on our floor. Staff was responsive and friendly enough. I'd go back.
