There are 28 colonial houses...

There are 28 colonial houses in the historic area, ideal for guests who wish to fully immerse themselves in the 18th century. Some are as small as one room within a tavern and others as large as 16 rooms. Furnished with authentic period reproductions and antiques, each Colonial House has a unique history and appeal of its own.

There's so much to see and do...

There's so much to see and do in Colonial Williamsburg, you'll want to spend several days enjoying it all. To make the most of your visit, stay within steps of the Historic Area at one of our five Colonial Williamsburg Hotels that offer a range of distinctive lodging options.

For an elegantly memorable visit, consider the Williamsburg Inn -- a national landmark and one of the country's finest hotels, located directly adjacent to the famous Golden Horseshoe Golf Club.

Or experience history in a whole new way, with a stay at one of the restored Colonial Houses or Taverns. Williamsburg Lodge, Woodlands Hotel and Suites, and Governor's Inn all offer modern convenience and moderate pricing with a warm Southern accent.

Janus International Hostel: A fun hostel in an old motel

Centrally located and close to Historic Williamsburg activities, a short commute from Jamestown, Yorktown, and Busch Gardens - this International hostel is placed in a former motel where hostellers can affordably get their own private rooms that are styled after motel rooms - own bathtub / shower, king size bed or double beds, microwave, fridge, air conditioner, electronic room keys. Rooms come with linens and parking. There are common rooms, shared kitchens, and a swimming pool. Lots of international hostellers during the summer, everyone is friendly and very social. My visit was very enjoyed. Thank you. Rating 4.5 stars out of 5. Visited 5/20/08 and 5/21/08.

Williamsburg Manor: Beautiful B&B. Fantastic Location. Tasty Breakfas.

I would highly recommend the Williamsburg Manor to anyone looking for something out of the ordinary. The Manor is located with in a short walk to downtown Williamsburg. The owners have designed the house to be all about the guest experience. Soft jazz is always playing in the background. Inside and outside. My girls enjoyed the assorted snacks and penny candy. We enjoyed a bottle of wine in the garden after they went to bed. Breakfast was a super treat with an assortment of local products and garden vegetables picked that morning.

The house is beautifully furnished with a mixture of antiques, pottery and bold paintings. I never felt so relaxed.

We loved everything about the place.
