Percival Landing Park: Public Boat Moorage Park

I have not stayed here, but it is certainly one of the cheapest ways to spend the night in downtown Olympia!

Located in the core of downtown Olympia, it is possible to camp in Percival Landing Park so long as you do so on your boat, and it is tied up at Percival Landing public moorage, and you have paid the overnight fee.

There are a number of moorages available, and two sets of public restrooms. One of these (on the north end of the park, near the playground) also has showers with combination locks so that they can only be used by those camping on their boat at the moorage.

Even on major holidays I have seen city workers cleaning the restrooms at this moorage, so my guess is they must be reasonably well maintained.

Public WiFi is also available in several locations around the landing. I can not say how well it is received in your boat out on the water, but the idea is that it should be received there.

The posted prices for 2013 are:

29 feet and under: $11 for no electrical hookup.
30 to 39 feet: $12
40 to 49 feet $13
50 feet & Over: $14

Registration instructions are posted in the south restrooms (the ones by the Olympia Oyster Company and Olympia Yacht Club). Sometimes you must self-register similar to a state park campground, but at other times you must register using the Olympia Center.

The maximum stay for the public moorage is 7 days within a 30 day period.

There is no charge for stays less than 4 hours.

A Thriftway Grocery Store is located at the far west end of the walkway along the water from the park going west, past the moorage for the Olympia Yacht Club.

Percival Landing does not have sewage hookup, but it does have a pump-out station for the holding tank.

WARNING The tides here have a nearly 20 foot swing between high and low tide. Be prepared for this should you need to climb or descend the ramp to your boat at low tide, as it can be a climb! Also, pay attention to posted signs about depth, as high tide allows for a lot more under-water clearance than low tide does!
