THE WORST HOSTEL THAT I HAVE EVER BEEN !!!

Terrible (1.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on January 10, 2011

I am a well-travelled person and I`ve visited countries in Oceania, South America and Asia and by far this is the worst hostel that I`ve ever been. It is a totally mess ! There is no cleanness, rules, order, kindness, organization. The rooms ( up 18 people sleep inside ) are hot, dirty and messy. You need to queue up on a long line to use the bathroom. You cannot sleep any time there because people scream on the corridor in the night. The cover sheet are torn !!! I`ve never seem a staff so rude and unfriendly like Ricardo. A booking is not a guarantee of anything. Ricardo put out people who had a booking because a larger group had arrived. In order to sort out the bad situation 2 people were sleeping in a single bed to accommodate the ones who had made the booking before. I was just wondering how can a hostel like this exist and even charge and why people pay to be in this hell ? I will never be there again !!!! They have beautiful photos on their website as it was true . If you have a similar experience with this hostel, write it down !!!

Unique Quality: I am a well-travelled person and I`ve visited countries in Oceania, South America and Asia and by far this is the worst hostel that I`ve ever been. It is a totally mess ! Rio cheapest in an area full of music

Great (4.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on March 20, 2008

I stayed in this place during my stay in Rio. It's situated in Lapa which is a pretty central position within Rio. i've payed 19 real for a dormbed per night which is very cheap for Rio. The place was clean, the beds ok. downstairs is a bar. Every evening you can order diner there for 7 real. They do vegetarian if you ask.
Lapa itself is great place to go out (samba central). The neighbourhood feels really dodgy but if you keep an eye on your things things will be allright.

Directions: It's located right in front of the Lapa arches. See the website for a map.
