Artistry in Focus at the Museum of Photography

Since its inception in May 2009, the Museum of Photography has been a key cultural hub in Marrakesh.

Founded by collectors Patrick Menac’h and Hamid Mergani, the museum houses an extensive collection of 8,000 photographs and 2,000 glass negatives, highlighting Morocco’s rich visual heritage. The exhibitions are organized by region and theme, providing insights into the history between 1870 and 1950. A notable feature includes the first color film documenting the High-Atlas, shot by Daniel Chicault in 1957.
