Founded in 2003, BUBT began its journey in the Dhaka Commerce College campus and permanently relocated to its own campus in Mirpur, Dhaka in 2019. With regulatory oversight from the Bangladesh University Grants Commission (UGC), BUBT is designed in the model of North American universities, featuring a range of academic programs and modern facilities. The university gained recognition in 2011 when UGC ranked it among the top eight private universities in Bangladesh.
