travel to shirdi - how to reach shirdi
shirdi is in Maharastra state in Ahmadnagar district.
Shirdi is connected very well by all kinds of transport..There are bus even from far off places like Ahmadabad, Bangalore and hydrabad.
Some travel agencies also offers package tours to shirdi along with accomodation in shirdi.
If you want to travel by air, the nearest airport is pune and aurangabad ..Nasik..
international airport is mumbai....
If you want to travel by train to shirdi,
book tickets either to pune or Manmad or kopergoan...
from pune u must travel 6 hours by bus to shirdi

There are lots of beautiful shops in shirdi near the temple complex itself...You will really love shopping... The best thing to do is look around between the streets inbetween and find a whole sale shop where you can buy

some whole sale shops in shirdi sell statues in bulk which u can gift to your sai friends...
please make sure you are paying what you can afford.
There are also few shops selling clothes, sarees etc...My habit is buy some sarees and gift to poor women when i travel to villages around shirdi and get their ashirwad...am saying this because baba loves when we really go in "SEARCH" of poor people and serve them ...

Shirdi Off The Beaten Path
Village of Newasa
This small village has many significant temples such as Sant Gnaneshwar temple, the place where Saint Gnaneshwar is said to have written the famous Gnaneshwari or the translation of Bhagwad Gita into Prakrit, ancient Marathi.
This village also houses the Mohini Raj temple or the temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu's Mohini Avtar. According to Hindu mythology,when the ocean was churned to bring out the nectar of immortablity, the Asuras or Demons tried to consume it. Lord Vishnu came in the form of a beautiful maiden and distracted the demons and offered them alcohol instead of the nectar of immortality. This temple has depictions of the precious gifts that emerged out of the churning besides the nectar of immortality.Related to:

in shirdi saibabas samadhi mandhir, theres a big hall for sai devotees to sit peacefully and do parayan of sai satcharita...the book which has life of sai baba of shirdi.
Please read sai satcharita fully or as many chapters as you can during your stay at shirdi
