    Airport Taxi Rates

by tanamay Updated Oct 7, 2014

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

When you exit the arrival hall, you will be greeted by touts offering cars or taxis to bring you to your hotel. They charge more than the regular tariff rates.

The cheapest, reliable and safe is Blue Bird taxis and they use their taxi meter. Am not sure where to get them in the new airport terminal. You can walk out of the airport complex and hail one along the road.

There is airport taxi and you can book it at their counter. The counter is located at the green section on the map on photo 1 (fronting domestic arrival), short walk on the rightside, in front of the local restaurant. Rates are shown in photo 2.

    New Domestic Terminal

by tanamay Written Oct 5, 2014

Starting September 17, 2014, domestic departure from Ngurah Rai Airport is moved to the new Domestic Terminal.

As of September 20, there is no helpful map of the area except for photo 2 which is in front of domestic arrival. You have to ask around and follow signs. Unfortunately the domestic departure is a bit far from domestic arrival.

    Immigration Lanes

by tanamay Written Oct 5, 2014

Upon entering the immigration hall you will be welcomed by long lines of people.

Take note that there are three major immigration lanes:
    * Indonesians take the leftmost lanes
    * Foreigners take the center lanes and they have the longest lines
    * Asean nationals take the rightmost lanes, and they are being covered by the long lines of the foreigners

    Rent a Motorbike in Bali

by DaHongHua Written Feb 7, 2014

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

I saw many local people travel on their motobike. There are many tourists who used motorbike as their mode of transport too, carrying hugh item such as the surf board with a holding rack attached to the body. With motorbike, one can move faster as traffic jam is common during peak holiday season. If you are extra adventurous, you may rent a motorbike from the street.

    Transportation to Hidden Beach

    by wayan_ubud Written Dec 15, 2013

    4 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

When you want to explore Bali especially if you want to see the best beach in the island, you have to think about the transportation, because most of the beach will lies hidden at the end of the road. Make sure you have arranged your transportation. It is better for you to have a private van with the driver to assist you in a day with fixed price. Because they can wait you when you have the time on the beach instead of using meter taxi that will cost you more because the meter will still running when they are waiting for you. Moreover, it will be difficult for you to find a meter taxi on the spot as there is no taxi passing by because of the location at the end road. If you want to use a private van with driver it will cost you around USD45/day. So many good beaches in Bali, but the best one and to be the best spot for the surfer will be at the southern part. Now the access to that beach is easy but you have to still need view steps to get down to the beach. Some of the beaches are Balangan beach, Dreamland beach, Pandawa beach, Bingin beach, Padang-padang beach, Labuan Sait beach, Suluban beach, and Uluwatu beach.

    Bali Joes Tour Guide

by Sharna. Written Dec 3, 2013

Joe is such an amazing bloke. I think my husband could have easily moved in next door and they could talk football and grow old together! HA!

Joe looked after our transfers and took us on a tour. When we go back we will definitely book Joe again. He takes you off the beaten path, know where to find great food and beautiful views. He shared his stories with us, we shared laughs and really enjoyed his company the whole time.

There was never a stress. If we were late, or a plane/boat was late Joe had it under control.

There is a 150,000 Rupiah per person for departure tax at the airport. ***ing robbering.

    Hire a van

    by Bob_Shan Written Aug 1, 2013

An popular alternative to TAXI is to hire a VAN for a day especially when you want to reach to the far end of the island, i.e., the volcano.

Depends on the gas prices, the cost will be from 450,000 to 550,000 Rupiah, including tips. 5 years ago the price was just 350,000 Rupiah a day.

Van is typically SUZUKI Arena or similar Toyota model, good for small group or families.
There are many such drivers, you may ask hotel help desk/concierge or TAXI drivers.

    The hotel's shuttle bus

by DaHongHua Written Apr 11, 2013

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

The hotel's shuttle bus to the city is among the best mode of transportation if we can follow the fixed schedule. During our Bali holiday in 2011, we ride the Inna Grand Bali Hotel's bus in the evening to Sanur town for dinner and spent some time at the Hardy's Hypermarket. We also ride the Melasti Bungalow and Spa shuttle bus. it was a great experience as we ride a big jeep although just a short distance ride.

    bali airport

    by J_Antunes Written Dec 7, 2012

Under construction is a new terminal. The domestic one is completely saturated, it is hot, not a lot of places to sit and flights tend to delay. If you have some time go outside go, but beware that traffic around the airport can be crazy.

For a great driver contact MADE (pronounced mah-day) Wardana. For a great price he took me from Kuta to Ubud and showed me all the important sites, a great restaurant, and he helped me to see part of a Traditional Balinese funeral. Not just this but he shared all about his culture and traditions. you can reach him through Bali Pesona Wisata (0361) 480348
