Police Tips (4)

Corrupt Police

Nepal, in specific Kathmandu, is loaded with very corrupt police (the military police were far less corrupt than the Kathmandu city police). There have been stories of police scamming tourist due to mandatory bribery and even in some cases black-male. Be aware and alert, especially while in Kathmandu!

Check Points

Check points are what you see all over the country. They ask for stop beforehand and say thank you afterwards. They are friendly to tourists. It's just very weird to see.
