Banana Boat Ride Tips (11)

Experience The Thrill Of A Banana Boat Ride

I haven't personally experienced the banana boat ride because of other priorities in schedule, but from what I see from morning till sunset, many thrill seekers ride the banana boat to have an adrenaline rush.

I thought a maximum of only 5 people at a time are accommodated on the inflated giant banana, but I saw a banana boat carrying 9 passengers.

Starting a bit slow, the speed boat to which the inflated giant banana is attached later revs up, gatherig speed and quickly makes a turn to throw the passengers off-balance. As a safety measure, passengers are provided with lifevests. I personally witnessed how a rider got thrown off the banana after the speed boat turned. Fortunately, he had a lifevest on.

FUN RIDES: 1. Banana Boating

I find this banana-shaped vessel really cute, though I have not tried it yet. The vessel is pulled by a speed boat at an increasing speed. Fun time comes when the passengers fall off the water as the speed boat pull the vessel faster. A fee of P150.00 is charged per passenger

Banana Boating

Banana boating (P200pp, 15 minutes) is another fun-filled beach activity. More exciting (and exhausting!) if the motorboat operator makes fast and sharp turns to make sure everyone on the banana boat will be thrown away! If he doesn't, then tell him to do so! You gotta experience screaming at the top of your lungs while being thrown away in the air!

Banana Boat

F-U-N. The banana boat ride gives just that, unadulterated fun. Not for everyone though, a bit "masochistic" but you'll definitely enjoy being thrown to the water. P200/head for a minimum of 5 riders, you'll be asked by the operator how many times do you want the boat to knock you over in a span of 15-20 minutes. Be sure to listen to the operator's instructions as to how and when to let go, otherwise, you will be the butt of jokes for falling prematurely.

Banana Boat Ride

Be ready to dive and swim in the middle of the sea when the hauling power boat intentionally makes a turn outbalancing the inflatable banana boat being pulled - everybody cant help but fall into the water. The fall is harder than you think.

Wearing a life vest is mandatory. Not recommended for the faint-hearted. P250/person minimum of 6 per ride for 15minutes.

Banana Boat Ride

With just two of us, and rides requiring 4 people at least, it didn't seem like we'd be able to try it - until we found a group of 4 about to start off and they happily let us join. Life vests are provided, and for good reason - they will make sure you go flying off at least once! Unfortunately, the young pilot did not have too much concern for safety - after we six were flipped off, one girl's foot got caught in the handle of the upturned boat: she was able to hold her head above water but was, understandably, scared and in hysterics. The boat boy didn't seem to hear her screams and started up the engine to swing the boat around to pick us up. Finally, he realized the problem and jumped in. A simple head count of bobbing heads in the water in the first instance would have avoided this near tragedy.
Another concern my gf and I had was how to secure our possessions while in the water. We left it at their counter, kept asking them to reassure us they would guard it, counted our money in front of them so they knew how much we'd be looking for on our return. Then came the rudest response as the girl rolled her eyes, and now I understand why (and hold no grudge against her) - she was fed up with our not trusting her, never even gave her the benefit of the doubt. In the end, we both got back all our possessions (minus PHP 200/person for the ride)

Ride a Banana Boat

Everybody talks about the banana boat ride in Boracay. I saw people riding those yellow monstrosities - about 8 to 10 to a banana. But, really... a banana boat??? Different strokes for different folks, I guess... You strap a life vest on, mount the boat like you would a horse (you don't want side straddle... believe me...), hold on to the banana, and get pulled by a speedboat in a high speed bumpy and wet ride across the 3.5 kilometers of beachfront (maybe 500 meters offshore). The best part is having a buddy with a telephoto lens to take your picture for "posterity" while you're holding on to the banana for dear life. Hahaha.
