While monkey watching can be exciting at their natural habitat in the mountains, watching out for monkeys at the beach is another thing.
At Camayan Beach, I saw monkeys coming down from the trees, jumping onto the hotel roof and trying to open windows. I also saw monkeys go down the beach area and went to the trash bins, scouring for leftover food. Some monkeys boldly went to the unattended cottages and sun loungers looking for food. What's bad, they sometimes pour the contents of the beach bags, and if they find no food, they can open up your shampoo/conditioner/sunblock, and gulp the contents!!!

Being a former US naval base, the "American rules of driving" are strictly implemented in Subic. Observe the speed limit, follow the signs, and watch out for crossing monkeys.
A big portion of Subic is still forested area where monkeys, bats and sometimes, snakes inhabit. Monkeys are free to roam the forest and although a perimeter fence was constructed, 1 or 2 manage to slip once in a while. When near this area, be alert!
We were fortunate to come across the monkey on the picture. But don't get too close, you never know what's inside his mind.
