Kampong Bahru Things to Do

  • Keppel Harbour

    You can have a fantastic view of the busy Keppel Harbour on top of one of the housing flats of Spottiswoode Park. Another good location to view the herbour is on top of Mount Faber, which I have another VT page coming up soon

  • Spottiswoode Park

    The housing flats of Spottiswoode Park rise high above the Kampung Bahru area. These flats are landmarks in this area.

  • Saint Theresa Church

    This is a famous and big church in Singapore located along Kampong Bahru Road near to Mount Faber and Keppel Distripark.

  • Railway Station

    The historical railway station of Singapore is a famous landmark. It operates daily trains north to many parts of Malaysia. You can have a good view of the cargo section of the railway station along Kampung Bahru Road.

  • Silat Walk Housing Estate

    This old housing estate contains some of the oldest housing flats in Singapore, such as these shown in the photograph.

  • The traditional houses at Blair Road

    These traditional peranakan houses at Blair Road and surrounding areas are well preserved and worth a visit if you are interested in the local architecture.

    There is a famous stall selling delicious local dish Yong Tau Foo as well as fishball noodles located at the coffeeshop beneath housing block 148 at Silat Housing Estate, Kampung Bahru. Kampong Bahru Off The Beaten Path

  • Mount Faber

    Mount Faber is a famous hill located near to Kampong Bahru, and is the gateway to the popular tourist island of Sentosa with its cablecar rides. More information will be coming up at my VT Mount Faber page.

  • Singapore General Hospital

    The Singapore General Hospital is just next to the Kampung Bahru area, and there is a famous canteen there called the Housemen Canteen which sells very delicious local food at a very cheap price. The famous stalls in the canteen are the ones selling vegetable rice, fishball noodles and chicken rice.

    Favorite thing: On top of an overhead bridge near to Blair Road, you have a very good view of the old traditional buildings of Kampung Bahru, with a background of modern skyscrapers in the city area which clearly showcases the contrast of Singapore.
