    The Tigerzoo

by globetrott Updated Oct 13, 2014

    4 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

There is a zoo of tigers and other animals as well where we had spent some time, while exploring the area around Chon Buri. Agaist some fee you can touch or feed the tiger and do other things that are totally impossible in other Zoos, this is what we had been told. I also found it quite unusual to see these 2 men sitting next to a sleeping tiger. (see them in my 2nd Picture) It is quite obvious that these tigers were set under drugs and I am afraid such stupid things will continue as long as people will pay the entrance-fees for such Zoos.
There are butterflies and more animals to see there as well.

Viharnra Sien / Wihan Sian Temple

by globetrott Updated Jul 20, 2014

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Viharnra Sein is a temple that we visited on our way to the Giant Budda. There is a colorfull mixture of sculptures and statues, works of art and some interesting exhibits like a smallscale model of some part of the Chinese Wall. It was interesting to walk through, even when I did not understand any of its meaning.

Directions: Viharnra Sein temple is also called Wihan Sian and you fill find it a bit outside of the village Chon Buri.

Viharnra Sien / Wihan Sian Temple has some interesting and colorfull dragons and other mythical creatures standing on top of the roofs of various temple-buildings.
The idea behind these dragons is giving the buildings and its inhabitants protection against bad and evil ghosts.

Directions: Viharnra Sein temple is also called Wihan Sian and you fill find it a bit outside of the village Chon Buri.

    The Giant Budda

by globetrott Updated Jul 22, 2014

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

There is a drawing of a Giant Buddha on a small hill close to Viharnra Sien / Wihan Sian Temple. We saw it only from some distance so I am not sure what kind of material was used in order "to draw" that giant Budda there.
We have been told it is the biggest drawing of Buddha on earth.
You will find a large carpark there, a modern temple and a small altar under a tree in oder to pray.

Visit the Long Neck Karen Village

by globetrott Written Jul 22, 2014

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Another sight closeby Chon Buri is the small village of a tribe called "Long Neck Karen". This tribe used to live in the mountains of Myanmar before they had been taken here, where they sell their selfmade Souvenirs to tourists, who mainly get there in order to see their golden rings around the neck and other parts of the ladies Body.

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Sriracha Tiger Zoo is a famous and well-known must visit place in Chonburi. It's merely 30 to 45 minutes from the Sriracha City and Pattaya. You can see and discover awesome tiger zoo and diffirent kinds of animals that is beautifully keep and maintained by the place. You can hold the tiger cub in your arms, feeding milk and you can take pictures with you, though there is a charge in having one, it's 150/shot! Expensive but worth paying..huh?!

Actually, I never really thought of going there but a friend(Phil_uk_net) suggested to go visit this place, so we did! And surprisingly, saw very cutie tiger cubs and the small ones are sipping milk to the mother pig! And Mother tiger has a piglets sipping milks too! It really is cute!

The zoo consists of more than 200 Bengal tigers and 100,000 crocodiles. It also provides many activities and shows which include crocodile wrestling (women) and elephants playing basketball. Make some new friends with the camels, deers, wallabies, elephants, Peruvian guinea pigs, ostriches and especially the baby tigers which were born in the zoo.

You can witness, some through my pictures when I go along!

I've seen this one in the nursery too and the mother tiger is feeding the piglets along with the tiger cubs! You can take pictures with the tiger cubs and you will be the one to hold the milk for him! You have to pay 150 baht/shot! Not bad though...

As mentioned above, you can hold and take pictures with them but you have to pay for 150 baht/shot! There are 2 types either you will put your face in the t-shirt or in a mug with their camera of course or you can have a picture with your camera! The staff knows how to take pictures with all those new digi gadgets maybe because there are too many visitors they already have with a camera in their own!

Right next to the nursery, there are 2 studios in there so your choice!

I've seen this very nice small lake just right next to the Thai Cafe, it's good to sit down and drink if you're not into hurry. I saw a couple of people there eating and drinking and just looking far away..Cool breeze though..not bad odor from the waste or anything as the place is clean and maintained!

He looks very happy to have it in his lap though..You can take a pic with him but be sure to pay first, 50 baht/shot! Please be reminded that all the animals has a payment if you like to take pix with you alone but if you just snop some, it's okey though!
