    Sinh Cafe

It seems the easiest and oddly enough, cheapest way to tour the Mekong Delta is on an organized tour. I spoke with a few intrepid travelers and though they enjoyed their solo sojourns into the region; it was not as easy or cheap as they anticipated. Don’t get me wrong, it was not an expensive area by any means, but the tours are such great value, it is hard to pass them up. We paid 873,000 dong ($55) for the both of us and this included our transport by bus into the Delta region, two nights in air-conditioned double rooms (Cantho and Chau Doc), two breakfasts, one lunch, numerous boat and bus trips around the region, and a boat/bus to Phnom Penh in Cambodia. That’s less than ten bucks a day and it was a well run trip at that. The boat trips in particular were great fun and ranged from tours of the floating markets to navigating more narrow rivers to local villages. Good stuff. We used Sinh Cafe out of Saigon (linked with Capital in Cambodia) but there are loads of other outfitters so shop around to keep them honest. ;)

    Phuong Trang (bus)
if in sai gon go to to 328 Le Hong Phong, Q10. or call them to reserve a ticket for your desired day/time
Whatever your departure time is, be sure to get to the above station at least 30mins prior. You will be taken by small bus to the southern sai gon bus terminal where you will board the big orange bus

Your ticket has your assigned seat number

Phuong Trang bus will stop at the Phuong Trang travel center. Everyone gets off. You can leave your stuff above your seat. The bus gets locked. NOTE your bus number. Its also probably the same as license plate. All phuong trang buses look alike. Go eat or stand around for 30 minutes. Then everyone will re-board.

The bus will stop at the Vinh Long bus terminal, then continue to Can Tho terminal

You can tell the bus attendant your final destination and the small bus can take you there. Or pay ripoff xe om guys who will set upon you when you disembark at Can Tho Terminal

Bus company Thanh Buoi is nonstop to can tho. maybe 5 or 10,000 vnd more expensive

Passenger and goods ferries in Mekong Delta
Buy your tickets on the boat. You should be aware that these aging vessels lack the most elementary safety gear, such as life preservers.
