    WORK FOR BACKPACKERS

by balhannah Written Jan 14, 2016

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Favorite thing: Greater Shepparton is a good place to get harvest work as it is the nation's leading fruit and vegetable processing centre and is known as Australia's food bowl.

Peak harvest season is from late January to early March, with shoulder periods December and April.
It is advisable to ensure work is available before making your way to Greater Shepparton.

The Shepparton Harvest Labour Service is provided by the employment service MADEC.

The Visitor Centre has available a Harvest Seasons Visitors' Information flyer and you can pick up a more comprehensive pack of information from the centre.

    STREET RIDER NIGHT BUS

by balhannah Written Jan 14, 2016

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Favorite thing: I have only read about the Street Rider Night Bus and haven't used it. The Victoria Police and Greater Shepparton City Council coordinate the service.

As I was really impressed with what it offers, I thought I would make it known here.

The Street Rider Night Bus is provided to the public to give them a safe, easy and inexpensive alternative for late night travel. The bus is driven by a volunteer and has a crowd controller riding on the bus, keeping passengers and drivers safe.

Going out at night and getting drunk means you need a taxi home because your not allowed to drive a car unless under the .05 alcohol limit.. Taxis are quite expensive, so this is a very good and cheap alternative.

The Service operates Sunday mornings between 1am and 5am delivering people to their doors in the Shepparton, Kialla and Mooroopna areas for a gold coin donation.
A gold coin is either $1 or $2.

    by l_joo Written May 23, 2006

Favorite thing: Shepparton one storey house is my general tip built for visitors to see, to understand the look of houses around and the surroudings, scenery, sky, etc. This is, I'm afraid, the highest quality tip, extreme classy, elegant and valuable especially in capturing the prime inexplicable feel. I dare say, this is an once in a million opportunity, to experience a tip that brought to you moments of sheer experience and true generality of Sheppartons.

    B/W birdie

    by l_joo Written May 23, 2006

    2 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Favorite thing: B/W birdie is a black and white bird that looks like a crow but painted partly itself in white, I don't know why a bird can be in black and white, don't know, curious and was looking over and over and took a photo to build tip for VT. I am not sure why a birdie can be built as a tip, weird, peculiar, but I think a tip of bird fits well into general tip for serious visitors to gain knowledge, eye opening, inspiring, exciting, spectacular, etc and learn to not look at non-bird objects (NBO). I am sure this a must in Shepparton, very important, do not forget to study this tip throughly should you plan to visit.

    KFC, I saw it

    by l_joo Written May 23, 2006

Favorite thing: The first moment I saw Shepparton, I saw a KFC restaurant from winding down my car window, snap. I realized chain stores are everywhere in the world today, so please serve yourself at KFC-Shepparton. But I like the outlook of the architecture, it looks more KFC than just KFC.

    Joo-Michelangelo relation

    by l_joo Written May 23, 2006

    2 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Favorite thing: There's a art museum in Shepparton, I noticed they have cement-made cows placed outside on grass as a kind of decoration, visitors like me had nothing to focus, obviously these colorful cows are the main attraction for photography, why not, why not choose to stand with a cow, of Michelangelo painted on.
