Shepparton has a FREE booklet full of different walks. One of them is the PUBLIC ART WALK which is a 1.25km trail, beginning at Monash Park, Fryers street, Shepparton. It's easy as the whole walk is along flat footpaths. The book has a map with the trail laid out and each site is numbered and information given about that site.Monash Park is where I...

Moooving Art or is it Mooing Art!Well, at the Visitor centre, if you push the button on one of the painted fibreglass cows, then it does moo.Approx 12 years ago, Shepparton decided to do something different to bring the tourists to town. What it did, was to have a lot of life-sized 3D fibreglass cows painted by local artists, then they were to be...

  • VICTORIA PARK

Victoria Park is a large green space with a lovely lake in the centre. Situated near the centre of Shepparton on Wyndham street/Goulburn Valley Highway, I found it hard to imagine this lovely landscaped park was a swamp in 1920.On a weekday, we easily found a parking space beside the park, I would imagine weekends would be a lot harder. There was a...

  • TELSTRA TOWER & SQUARE

Located off the Maude Street Mall, the Shepparton Telstra Tower is easily seen from many parts of Shepparton. It was built between 1967 and 1968 and is 77 metres high with an observation deck at the 29 metre mark, reached by climbing 160 steps. Unfortunately, by the time I found the tower, it was closed for the day. I imagine you would have some...

  • QUEEN'S GARDENS & MARKETS

Queen's garden was located across the road from the Tourist Information centre. As I like gardens, I wandered across the road to the lawned square laid out with pathways lined with roses and annuals. Even though the best of the rose season had past, I still managed to find many nice blooms. There were plenty of shade trees and seating. On the...

The Shepparton War memorial is located in Memorial reserve. I found this area well thought out and the sculptures well done.On the fore-court where the statues are located are three flagpoles, in front of which is a lawn cross and a plaque bearing the words FIELD OF REMEMBRANCE. Behind the flagpoles is a granite plinth to which is fixed a bronze...

Barclay's Antiques and Collectables is located next to the Motor Museum at Emerald Bank in Shepparton. • Mooving Art

Mooving Art is a collection of about 100 fibreglass, brightly painted cows around Shepparton and Mooroopna (guess they already had the 'moo' in their name!)There's even a cow painted in a police uniform outside the Police Station. We saw just a few (those pictured below were beside Victoria lake) but they are scattered all over the place evidently.

    Self driving

    by l_joo Written Dec 7, 2005

We reanted a Toyota Tarago from Hertz in Melbourne, they charge A$90++ for a 24 hours, not inclusive of fuels. Took us some 3 hrs to get here, smooth drive, beautiful views everywhere, easy to drive even for a first timer like me. That's all about this tip.

[Tip built at University of Melbourne 12.30pm]

  • FACTORY OUTLET

SPC ARDMONA is a factory in Shepparton that produces packaged fruit and vegetables they buy from local growers. The factory is separate to the factory outlet.Sometimes tins get damaged or perhaps "quality control" has put some aside for some reason, these all end up in the factory outlet. This is a huge shop! I didn't think I would need a shopping...

  • SHOPPING IN SHEPPARTON

In my opinion, Maude street is the main shopping area in Shepparton CBD.Located in the centre of Maude street, is MALL CENTRAL where I could walk around with-out worrying about cars and crossing the road. CAR PARKS IN SHEPPARTON

by balhannah Written Jan 14, 2016

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Lucky for us that we didn't receive a parking ticket, as we failed to notice we had to buy a ticket for a parking space.

Shepparton CBD does not have much free parking, nearly all of it has signs of how many hours you can park your car. In our case it was 2P, which from where we come from means we can park there for 2 hours for free. This wasn't the case in Shepparton.
What we missed was the word "ticket" painted on the kerb. The ticket machine was located in the centre of the road where there were more allocated parking spaces, something else we were not used to.

So, when parking you car in Shepparton, check the kerb to see if you need to buy a ticket to put in your car window, it can be easily missed!

Buy your ticket here Ticket painted on kerb
