Favorite thing: The beach in Placencia is considered by many to be the best in Belize. I will not argue with this because I know that I did see a few decent beaches in the country and this one was by far superior to them. The beach stretchs for a couple kilometers along the Carribean and is open to the public all the way. The water here is incredibly warm and you will not have to take time to adjust. The beach is not that wide and there are few true access points. On a whole I thought a visit was my wonderful break from the Canadian winter.
Favorite thing: Much hallaballoo is made of the fact that the Guiness Book of Records used to claim that "the Sidewalk" is he narrowiest street in the world. It is in fact a sidewalk, not a street made for cars. It the side walk runs parrelel to the beach and is flanked buy guesthouses, restaurants and souvenior shops. If you spend any time in Placencia, you will probably find yourself strolling up and down the Sidewalk quite a bit.
Favorite thing: Sunset in the tropics always leave me breathless (in my northern home they seem to take for forever and I seem to lose attention), I love how the sun seems to just drop and in a minute the day is gone and night has set in.
