Seemed to me to be the best night hangout. Lively bartenders, good prices and a nice location on the beach. They also have food, bar stuff, nothing fancy or pricey. During American football season, they show games on a big tv. Watched the last 2 minutes of the Packers crushing the Bears here, on the beach. It was 85 here, about 25 degrees in Green Bay.
Directions: end of the street next to the beach. about the 9th establishment down the beach.
This is as disco as it gets in Samara. Not the most luxurious place but it does have several tables, booths and a decent-sized dance floor. They play a good mix of reggaeton, salsa, reggae etc. Located on the beach. This is the place to be on Saturday night and the place gets packed after Las Olas closes around 1:30 am and is open until after 4 am ish. The crowd is fairly mixed.
It seems that they were charging cover to get it but we (girls, of course) asked if we could go in with out paying and they happily obliged.

This is a pretty cool place. It is a one car garage converted into a bar. And best of all, they only offer beer from brewery's in Costa Rica. They do serve wine and mixed drinks. They also serve free popcorn. They are only open in the evening. They move some tables out onto the sidewalk but this is a small place but perfect for the size of Samara! I went here three out of the four nights I stayed in Samara recently. Fun place to socialize with friends and relax. I tried a different beer each night:
Night 1 - I tried "Dune" from Dry Season Brew Lab. It is a Hefeweizen beer, typically my favorite type but this one fell short and I would not order this again.
Night 2 - I went for the "Agazapada" from Tierra Fertil Cerveza Artesanal. This is described as an American Honey Ale and rather strong at 8.0% alcohol. This was a good tasting beer that I enjoyed.
Night 3 - This was the highlight beer for me. I had the "Little Mexican Dog," another beer from Dry Season Brew Lab. This beer is described as a Tequila Chili Pale Ale and another at 8.0% alcohol. I really liked this beer. You can taste the stronger alcohol and has a bit to it from the chili. I would definitely order this again.

Las Olas is a family owned and operated restaraunt and bar on the north end of Samara. It is a great time. During the day it is a great place to surf and snorkel. In the evening enjoy a drink, some great Mexican food and a bunch of locals.

Address: 200 meters north and 100 meters east of town ctr.
This is the bar next to the backpacker resort on the water and is right on the beach. It has a bar, pool tables, music and dancing and a food stand that serves casados, fries and nachos. This place usually has people hanging out here all day and night for a more mellow vibe until 1:30 am when people still partying tend to head to Tutti Fruttis just down the beach.
If you are getting to this spot, via the beach I dont recommend you go alone. The police station is right at the beach entrance but the short walk to the bar is dark and not too many people around. Play it safe and go with a few other people.

This is a sports bar and night club. Monday's is ladies night. Not sure if there are any specials for that but the music is extremely loud and they stay open until 2:00am. They do have a happy hour everyday from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. Wednesday is another loud night as they have drink specials for local bar and restaurant workers. It is a small community so they must know who all those workers are. Thursday the advertise a Mojito special, 2 for 1 price.
This place was too loud for me. It is a much younger crowd of tourist. I saw a few happy drunks but also a few angry, obnoxious drunks so I made an early departure.
