Rum Factories, Havana
Since we don't smoke, we decided to skip the cigar factory tour but we do like rum so we were curious to see that the Museo del Ron had to offer. The tour wasn't all that great but we did learn a bit about the history of rum in Cuba. Our guide was very friendly and quite funny, spoke in French, English and Spanish, and we could see that he was trying very hard to entertain us. The tour ended with a shooter of delicious dark rum, and of course there was no way we would have left this place without visiting the gift shop!

Just befoe Christmas on the 24th we tried to visit the rum museum, unfortunately closed but we spent one hour in the Ron Havana Club - amazing - one of the best live concerts that we witnessed in Havana..we couldnt help buying the CD..
Yum rum. Gotta tour a rum factory. It's the typical tour, fun guy, brief talk on how things are done and then into the shop to buy some fine Cuban Rum or Cigars. I did neither but it was cool to see how the stuff was made.
The Havan Club Rum, one of the most well known drinks all over the world. With more than 2 centuries of rum making the cuban factories have enough experience to create the best rum you ever imagine. In Old Havana U cand find the havana club museum. It has good services and offers tours in english, french, german and italian for 5 usd. At the end U´ll be offered with a "Cuba Libre".
Address: Avenida del Puerto
Directions: Located in the building housing the havana club fundation. Avenida del puerto across the street from the customs, also in front of the Muelle de Luz, where small boats departs for Regla
Visit a Ron factory. Cuba is famous by its ron... Inside this factory was great deep smell. Almost I was drunk just by the smell: hip, hip, hip :-P Yeah! Guided visit will be great to be inform about all the process.
See the elaboration and then buy a good ron bottle.
Directions: La Casa del Ron, C/Obispo, 527 and Bernaza. Old Havana
Take a tour of the rum factory. I was amazed at how little I knew about how it's made, despite being a rum lover!!
