De Visscherie Tips (2)

De Visscherie: I LOVED THE FOOD AND THE DECOR!

This was a very pleasant surprise. Most of my other restaurant choices were closed on the evening I dined at De Visscherie and went here only on the suggestion of the hotel's concierge. It turned out to be my best meal in Brugge. The dining room was extremely chic, modern, and soothing. The color scheme of tangerine and gray was a delightful accompaniment to the wonderfully prepared seafood. This was a great dining experience. The service, food, and ambience were all excellent.

Favorite Dish The seafoof chowder and the sole were to die for.

De Visscherie: Soup, Salad, and Seafood

De Visscherie is one of a cluster of restaurants just across the bridge from BURG square. The restaurant is popular among tourists, and waiters are fluent in several languages (the couple next to us spoke French and an older party nearby spoke German). Seafood seems to be the specialty, including oysters, clams, mussels, calamari, and a variety of fish. Vegetarians may have a difficult time finding a dish made without meat, but a simple soup or mozzarella salad are available. Service can be very poor depending on the crowd, on busy nights expect waits of 30-45 minutes.
