Zlatyu Boyadjiev Gallery: A Cultural Gem

The Zlatyu Boyadjiev Gallery showcases the rich artistic heritage of Bulgaria through the works of its namesake artist.

Founded in 1977 and housed in a National Revival-era mansion previously owned by Dr. Stoyan Chomakov, the gallery exhibits 72 paintings by Zlatyu Boyadjiev (1903–76), predominantly featuring idealized representations of Bulgarian peasantry. Dr. Chomakov, a significant historical figure who fought against Ottoman rule, donated the house to Plovdiv for its cultural preservation.
