Jarun Sporting Centre

Jarun is Zagreb's sporting and recreational centre. Here you can rollerblade, cycle and walk along the tracks that surround around the lakes. You can also swim, row, sail, cable ski or even go fishing in the lakes.

They also have soccer, beach volleyball, table tennis and basketball courts there.

There are parks for kids to play and bars for the adults at night and day :-)

Sunday afternoon at the lake

During the weekend, place is full of people who are enjoying in nice walking, driving a bike, rollerskating or just drinking coffee in bars..It's also possible to play handball on the sand. On the summer time people are swimming in the lake and sunbathing so this place is like Zagreb's beach.

Jarun - walking paths

Walking around the lake could be an exceptional weekend recreation too. During the sunny days, in late autumn or winter, whole this area is crowded with the local people. Besides, there are many restaurants and cafes, especially on the northern side of the lake, where one can just seat and watching people passing by. Remember a fact, the girls from Zagreb are gorgeous.

Feed the the Jarun swans

There exsit huge flock of red bill swans in the Jarun Lake, which is constantly increasing, year after year. This birds are very domesticated and loved by the locals, especially the kids. You can walk through the flock and they wont runaway in the water. Quite opposite of it, they approach to the people seeking for food. Buy a popcorns in a nearby shop and feed them.

The Lake of Jarun

If the hot summer day, instead of staying in your hotel room or drinking too much bear, refresh yourself in a small lake of Jarun.
After beach activities or swiming you can enjoy in a couple of good restaurants, cafe-bars, or in excellent discoteque 'Acquarius' which is probably the best in the city.
