Loket is a small town nearby Karlovy Vary / Karlsbad.
You may go there by car or by train and will see a very special town, built on a rock that is almost completely surrounded by the river Ohre / Eger
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe was there and left some traces for the tourists...

Karlovy vary / Karlsbad has a good connection to the European train-systems.
Arriving by train was the most common way of going for a vacation to Karlsbad for plenty of people before WW II.
You may save a lot of nerves that way and do not have to search for a parking.
Look out carefully for the trafic signs and explanations ( although they are given ONLY in Czech language )
Plenty of parkings like this one in the very centre - close to the park and to many of the expensive hotels - are allowed ONLY for residents of the hotels or local people.
Karlovy Vary / Karlsbad is situated in the north-west of Czechia, about 50 Km east of Cheb / Eger.
Car-trafic is quite heavy and searching for a parking outside of the city is a good idea and saves you from a lot of stress
There are horse and carriages and Toy Tourist train around Karlovy Vary. The best is your own two feet., the land is mostly flat .
