Château du Clos Lucé, a large manor built in 1471, became home to Leonardo da Vinci in 1516 at the invitation of King Francis I. Here, he spent his final years developing inventions and designs.
The château served as a residence for French royalty, contributing significantly to its historical importance. The house showcases 40 scale models of Da Vinci's inventions, set within 7 hectares of gardens featuring picnic spots and walking paths along a stream. The house retains furnished ateliers and Da Vinci's bedroom, where he died on May 2, 1519.
