Musee le l’erotisme is a funny sex museum at (what a surprise) Pigalle district, not far from the numerous nightclubs of the area. We visited the museum one evening in 2005, that’s the good thing about it, that its open late in the night :)
The museum spreads on 6 different floors with many boring temporary porn exhibits but also erotic symbols and figures from Africa, japan etc It’s better to visit it with a friend had quite a few laughs with many of the miniatures, paintings, comics, photographys and pottery although we noticed some lonely figures here and there that seemed really excited with some of the exhibits :) I guess some people may feel uncomfortable with so much pornographic images but they should except the theme of such museum, no? But the museum isn’t a priority, actually all these floors full of erotic displays probably will make some people feel like walking inside a huge sex shop.
The entrance fee is expensive, in 2014 was up to 10euros (but print for free a discount voucher from their site and pay 8euros or 14e for 2 persons)
The Erotic Museum displays all kind of artifacs related to sex.
It's located between Place Pigalle and th Moulin Rouge, the area with most Paris sex shops.
Entrace fee: 9 Euro (3 Euro over the Internet).
Opening hours: Daily 10AM - 2AM.
This is really something particular, you expect to find such a museum in Amsterdam instead in Paris, but when entering you will be amazed.
This museum is all about eroticism, from toys back in the ancient, to paintings, books, etc...
There's a permanent exibition that goes from Sacred Art, Brothel, Contemporary Art, to Popular Art.
The exibition takes place on 7 floors and there's really a lot to see at a really cheap price.
Must say tho that there are some really explicit pictures and video that you might not like.
When in Paris the Erotica (Sex Museum) is an especially nice treat. This delectable museum is located about a block or two from the Moulin Rouge. The art itself doesn't leave much to the imagination but, you will leave the museum a bit more knowledgable on the evolution of sex and maybe a sex toy or two.
Ok this is not your usual museum, it is an Erotic Museum, dedicated to one thing only, "SEX", it is in the heart of Paris' Red Light District. Entrance at the time we went (2002) was about 7 euros/pp. Very interesting, has 7 floors of art, photos, videos, paintings, and a whole lot more ofcourse all dedicated to Eroticism.
