easiest (and cheapest) way to get to crete is via air from athens. aegean air offers promotions for as little as 25 euros each way there is another 27 or 28 euro tax, but it is well worth it. upon arrival in chania, an airport bus (runs between every 60 and 90 minutes) will bring you to the city center within 20 minutes.
