O'Connor's Pub: Great Food, Low Prices

Oooohhh...This place has some great food. The clam chowder is wonderful. The Irish stew is fantastic. And the Baileys...I ate here almost everyday. I wish I had had a bigger stomach so that I could have eaten more.

Directions: There is only one street in Doolin and only three pubs. You can't miss this one.

O'Connors is a lively, local pub that serves great food, usually accompanied by irish music played by local people who jsut happen to turn up and play for the fun of it.

Traditional Music is played all year long and during the summer 7 nights a week 9.30pm 'til close

O'Connors was awarded the Traditional Irish Music Pub of the Year in 2002 by the Irish Pub Guide (www.irishpubguides.com).

When we went, this place was packed out (it was the weekend) so arrive early if you want a seat.

Favorite Dish: We had their Irish Stew and Soda bread. The bread was needed to sup up all the wonderful gravy that comes with the stew.

Food is served between 12 noon and 9pm.

Directions: Head towards the pier and it the busy place on the right.

Gus O'Connors Pub: Perfect Pub Grub!

Gus O'Connor died the week before we arrived, so Doolin was still in mourning after losing one of the guys that put the place on the musical map of Ireland. May he rest in peace.

Favorite Dish: Seafood chowder. Better chowder than Boston, and better Guinness to wash it down with!

Directions: If you can't see it from where you're standing in Doolin, ask anyone. It's not far from anywhere.

Gus O'Connor's Pub: Music, Seafood and excellent beer

One of the places recommended to us if we wanted to hear some local music, we instead had a very nice lunch there during our drive around the countryside. I can definitely recommend the raw oysters in season, the excellent seafood chowder and the fish and chips. Also had a pint of local brew as well---MMMMM!

Favorite Dish: Seafood chowder---thick and fresh, big chunks of seafood
