    Knappogue Castle in Quin,...

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

    Knappogue Castle in Quin, Co.Clare was built in 1467 and was the home of the MacNamara Clan. The original structure has Georgian and Regency additions. It is furnished in 15th century pieces. If you find Bunratty's banquet booked up or would like the Medieval dining experience away from the crowds, try Knappogue.
    open for tours of the castle 9:30-5pm;
    2 sittings for the dinner show in the evening

    Dress Code: Most people dress up a bit for the Banquets at Bunratty and Knappogue. (I admit, I didn't go to either dining experience, prefering a good restaurant followed by a pub!)

    Directions: between Shannon and Ennis on R469. Take N18 north to R462 to R469.
