TATITAS: A Gastronomic delight in San Lawrenz

by SpagBoll Updated Sep 26, 2005

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

We stopped at Tatitas for a drink one afternoon. We were so taken with the owner's attitude and enthusiasm that we went back that evening. The aptmosphere on San Lawrence square is typical of the area.

We enjoyed the complementary Brochetta, Avocada starter (don't miss it), lemon sorbet followed by Lobster in garlic butter. Just over LM35 for two. We couldn't manage sweet!

Oh well back to the diet.

Favorite Dish: Don't miss the Avocado starters they really are superb. We saw our rep in the restaurant and the following day were all trying to decide what the ingredients were.

The restaurant is popular and booking is recommended.

Even though the place is small however one can have snacks, sandwiches and coffee, tea, and a drink. However if you go there you will get confused what to take as the gooey yummy cakes will capture your taste buds ;-)

Favorite Dish: I have loads mostly chocolate cake and baci cake but they have loads of amazing pastries too !

Paradise Bar & Restaurant: For Elvis Fans!

by Xemx Updated Dec 26, 2004

    4.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

The owner of this restaurant, Joe, is obviously an Elvis fan because the walls of the restaurant are covered with Elvis photos and memorablia. If you look closely at the pic on the left, there is a sign above the door of the restaurant, saying " Elvis Presley Blvd"! The children we had with us were also amused by the novelty toys in the restaurant, especially a singing fish!

The restaurant is run by family members who make you feel very much at home. The food is wonderfully fresh and well prepared. The servings are also very generous.

Favorite Dish: The restaurant specialises in fresh fish dishes and is popular for its giant prawns. The mixed sea-food grill is an excellent choice for a meal.

Address: Mount Carmel Street, Xlendi, Gozo

Pierre's Marsalfon: Seafood by the Sea

by SpagBoll Written Oct 25, 2004

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

I'm sure that all the restaurants in Marsalfon are good. We particularly like Pierre's which is on the end of the bay, to the opposite end of the Church.

There is something about enjoying a meal or an ice cold beer and sitting right next to the sea

Favorite Dish: All the seafood and pizzas are good

    Address: Marsalfon

Directions: Far end of the bay of Marsalfon. It is the furthest of a row of about 4 or 5 restaurants.

Look for the red awnings with "Pierre's"

    Villa Barbecue: Self catering

    by nada1712 Updated Nov 24, 2003

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

We eat on our barbecue every night. We buy excellent fresh fish (it is widely available) and lots of fresh vegetables and salads. They are all sold by local farmers or markets. We finish up with black mulberries (a bit like raspberries) which are rich, dark and juicy and simply scrumptious. The wine is not bad. If you chill it down well, its fine.

    Favorite Dish: Fish, fish, fish!!

You find many good-priced and expensive restaurants in Gozo, but for me, I just love those by the sea. Just pick any restaurant, table by the sea, and eat your heart out, whether it is a pizza or a luscious fish meal...it goes down just great!
