The Amsterdam South east, the area nearby the Amsterdam Arena, but also a nice camping site overthere. I live here for more than 25 years now. You are in this area within 20 minutes bij subway
you take number 53 or 54 stop Bijlmermeer or Ganzenhoef or Kraaiennest.
In the South east of Amsterdam there live about 130 different nationalities, form all over the world.
Ofcourse we have some markets. Every day there is one somewhere in the area. And they are cheap because nog yet growded like the Albert Cuyp by tourists.
Also the area is wide and green, a lot of cyclepads where you can easely cycle, there is a seperation of fast and slow traffic so cycling is safe!.
If you like to do een guided tour that is also possible. We do groups around 10 people.
Visit the football stadion Arena sometime. Here football matches are played and even concertos are held. Once Tina Turner sang here for example. Watch out for some footballmatches though. When Amsterdam (Ajax) plays against Rotterdam (Feijenoord) you can exspect riots. On the picture am I standing in front of the Arena stadion.
It's JUST the most modern stadium in Europe. Very nice to visit, even for someone (like me) whom football doesn't mean anything.
By subway you'll arrive just in front of it. Can't miss it.
The ArenA is home to Ajax, the legendary soccer team of Amsterdam, where Johan Cruyff and many others played.
