REM Eiland Restaurant, Amsterdam
The REM restaurant is a former rig that was located in the Northsea just off the coast of Noordwijk aan Zee.
In the second half of 2006 the rig was taken apart and tranported to Vlissingen (Flushing).
Nick van Loon, a nautical heritage caretaker and former owner of the Pont 13 restaurant became interested and together with business partner Hilly Engels he made plans to save the "REM Island" and like the Pont 13, transform it into a restaurant.
In March 2011 the rig was assembled again and the restaurant opened in July of the same year.
Since December 2013 opposite the REM eiland the former Radio Veronica broadcasting ship is moored at the EYE museum.
Three course menu's start from Euro 28.50.
