  • New town hall

    New town hall of Olsztyn is located in the donwntown on the John Paul II square outside the old town. Building was created in 1912. Today it is a seatplace of Olsztyn president. At every midday and midnight melody the city - hejnal is played from cityhall tower.

  • Upper gate

    Upper gate is an entrance to old town from downtown side. It was built in 14 century. Upper gate is the only gate survived till nowadays. Before three gates of town defence wall were there. Tower is buit in gothic style and has 5 floors.

    Great, gothic building. It was started building in 1315. They were finishing it during XIV and XV centuries :)Unfortunately in 1807 French soldiers kept here Prussian and Russian prisoners, and the interior was completly destroyed - it burned :(

  • Evangelic church.

    This church was built 1877 in neogothic style :)The tower has got 43 meters.Under the altar is placed the stone, that was used in ancient times for sacrifice :) - I'm sorry, but I wasn/t inside - I don't know if it's visible :)

  • Nicolaus Copernicus.

    Nicolaus Copernicus lived and worked in Olsztyn castle between 1516 and 1521.You can meet him just in front of the castle :)

    Really nice castle, built by Teutonic Knights at the end of XIV century.Unfortunately visiting the castle from inside is impossible, becouse the polish post bought it and made there their offices... :(

    Big shoping centre in the Olsztyn downtown. Probably it is possible to buy all needed things in this shoping centre. Clothes, jewelry, cosmetics, electronics, sporting goods etc.
    Pretty comfortable place for shopping and getting services.
    Close to old town.
