As daytrips from Bragança we chose:
. Parque Natural de Montesinho, a beautiful natural protected area, with fantastic small villages to explore and amazing breathtaking landscape. Concerning small villages I'd highlight: Montesinho and Rio de Onor (the latter a community that spreads besides frontiers - the village is situated both in Portuguese and Spanish territory but they act as a single one);
. Puebla de Sanabria and the lake: a quick visit to Spanish lands, Puebla de Sanabria is a lovely village to explore. It is situated near a beautiful lake (Sanabria);
. Azibo dam: a beautiful dam with nice infrastructures to enjoy a river beach. This area of the country is far from the beach and very hot in summer, so you'd better enjoy the other resources it has to offer. When we visited in Spring it was still early for beach, but we enjoyed a magnificent sunset from this unusual beach.
There's no place I have to advice you to visit.
Just pick a car and go check some small vilages, just for breath.
