Casa de Pasto Flor: Have a lunch with locals!

    by Avieira67 Updated Jul 11, 2015

Neste lugar, fora do cartaz turístico, vai encontrar as pessoas locais genuínas.

This is not a tourist place, but it is ideal to know genuine local people. This kind of restaurant offers local dishes for a cheap price and good quality.
This was my first time I had a lunch in this restaurant, but I had a good experience.
In fact, I was really hungry and I ordered two kind of dishes: codfish with chickpea and chop pork with yam. As I was along with a friend, she ordered baked ocotpus. Both of us have found our dishes delicious!
Besides the table service in the restaurant, this place offers great traditional snacks such as: fried pork meat & blood sausages, stewed kidney, stewed liver, stewed cow tongue, stewed pea, chop pork, tripe, cooked eggs, codfish cookies and beef and chicken croquettes. Also toasts and sndwiches are available.

If you like pork, I advise Torresmos de vinho d'alhos com inhame; for fish/seafood, try bacalhau com grão de bico or polvo assado. Unfortunately our local red wine [vinho de cheiro] is not very special, but try it. For dessert, try the great homemade sweetened condensed milk pie.
As menu changes, just ask the waiter for local dishes.
