    Ezerani Nature Reserve

Access to this reserve is difficult, especially if you're a casual visitor and would like to see some of the birds of Lake Prespa without making formal arrangements. Unlike Ohrid, Prespa has some interesting species, things like Pygmy Cormorant, Black-necked Grebe, pratincoles and various herons and terns. But of most interest would be the Dalmatian Pelicans. Forget the village of Ezerani, the reserve can be reached from the village of Asamati, near Pretor. There are a couple of rustic, raised hides which give slightly distant views of the birds. Depending on the time of day (or luck), the north end of the beach at Pretor itself can be good. Alternatively, from the road along the north / north-west shore of the lake, it is possible to see pelicans sitting on the water at fairly close range.
