Resava Cave is the first cave in Serbia open for tourist visits in April 22nd 1972, 10 years after it had been discovered. It is located about 20 km from Despotovac, and it is very easy to find it just by following the signs by the road.
Reasva Cave is rich in ornaments of various shapes and colours, pillars, coral-like calcite deposits… The cave consists of three floors of passages and halls connected by artificial tunnels. Only parts of the first and second floors – Upper and Lower Gallery have been prepared for visits. An underground river flows through the lowest floor – the Third Gallery. The length of the cave totals to more than 4.500 m of which 2.850 m are completely explored and the tourist paths are 800 m long.
Among the most beautiful ornaments are Kosnice or Beehives in the chamber of the same name, the one following the Entrance Chamber, in the Upper Gallery. "Sculpture" Mother with Child, in Central Hall, is kind of symbol of Resava Cave. The Central Hall, also called Concert Hall because of its acoustics is the largest in the cave and it is about 35 m high. Third Gallery with the underground river is below it.
Tour of the cave lasts about 40 minutes. Resava Cave has a permanent guide service.
Visiting hours: 8 am – 6:30 pm (April 1st – October 31st); 10 am – 5 pm (November 1st – March 31st)
Waterfall Veliki Buk (one of the meaning could be "the great roar") is part of hydrocomplex Lisine. It is about 20 km from Despotovac and it is very easy to reach it just by following the signs by the road.
Stream Veliko vrelo ("the great well") falls from about 20 m high cliff and forms Veliki Buk, one of the highest waterfalls in Serbia. During the ages watter created kind of natural amphitheater and tiny, several meters deep, very bright and clean lake under the waterfall. It is the perfect spot for those who enjoy beauty of the nature.
There are two very good, traditional restaurants near Veliki Buk – Vodopad (the waterfall) and Lisinski raj (Lisine heaven). Vodopad includes bungalow accomodation.
