    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

When I traveling to Trencin I used two means of transportation - bus and train, as I wanted to visit also Trnava on the way. Anyway, it is possible to come use train line Bratislava - Trencin also. I made it when I was going back to Slovak capital.

Trains from Trencin back to Bratislava was going about every hour, so it is better to check schedules before, if you are punctual about time. Railway line is quite nearby old town, you need only to cross a park.

As I remember the ticket Trencin - Bratislava cost around 6,30 euros during my visit time.

    Getting to Trencin

by GentleSpirit Updated Sep 23, 2012

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

If you are coming from Bratislava, the train takes about 1 hour 40 minutes. Trencin is a major transport hub for this part of the country, so you should be well connected for traveling onwards.

Trencin has an exit from the main road between Bratislava and Zilina (d1).

The bus station is located directly across from the train station (how convenient!). The bus is a far better option for places farther off, but for major cities it is probably easier to just take the train.

Air Travel- nearest airports are in Bratislava (124 km) Vienna (170 km) Note that Bratislava Airport has substantial traffic from off price airlines.

    Getting There By Train...

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

I arrived in Trencin by train after hiking up Cachtice Hrad.

In general, all express trains from Bratislava to Kosice (via Zilina) stops here. The jouney would take about 1 hour 35 minutes or it could be about 1 hour 20 minutes roughly from Bratislava Hlavna Stanica train staion or as long as 2 hours 20 minutes from Bratislava.

There are also buses to Bratislava (2 .5 hours) & Kosice ( 7.5 hours).
