Podsmihel is a part of Lasko that is interesting for factories built in industrial architecture with typical roofs. But industry there decayed so these beuldings are mostly empty.
Podsmihel opens a road for many interesting places on nearby hills, like Smihel, Kristof, Baba, Govce, Kal.... On Smihel there is a beautiful church. In church on Kristof there are is the oldest organ in Slovenia from 1682, that can be found on 200 tolar banknote.
Culture centre is built on basis of old Dom Dusana Pozenela, hall that was being used for numerous shows and performances in Lasko (from primary school/musical school performances to thetre and concerts). With money donated by brewery, the building was redecorated into an excellent place. There is musical school in that buiding, too.
Lasko lies on the banks of Savinja river. Although Savinja is not a beautiful river and too often floods, natural beauty of Lasko and forests and hills that surround it makes walking along banks of Savinja a great experince.
Actually I'm not sure how to translate the name of this building into English. Lasko is the centre of municipality that occupies about 200 sq km and counts about 14000 people. In this building there are offices that take care about administrative services for this area. In the school they used to teach us that this building is quite old, maybe from 16th centuy and that there used to be prison in the basement, if I remember correctly.
It dominates appearance of Lasko when entering town across the bridge. There is nice square inside this building with well. There is very small market (one stand only) on Saturday, there.
Trubarjeva ulica is the most central street in Lasko. Most of the city services are located here, like shops, post, school, municipal administration building as well as brewery administration building.
Trubarjeva got its name after Primoz Trubar, writer of first book in Slovenian languge who eventually worked in Lasko. Primary school in Lasko is also called after him.
This square got its name after Janez Vajkard Valvasor, count and historian from 17th century, author of the book The Glory of the Duchy of Carniola.
Square connects Askercev trg and banks of Savinja river. There are bank and hotel Savinja here.
Although first manor on this location was built in 15th century already, existing building is from 16th century and was built by Ziga Weichselberger. I remember that manor's premises were used as health centre during my childhood. In 1982 manor was renovated and library was moved to its premises. There is gallery on the first floor that hosts very interesting exhibitions, shows and presentations.
Librarians are very proud of their achievements because library achieves excellent results in terms of popularization of reading and ammount of borrowed books (actually these numbers are growing rapidy for about 20 years already). It is pleasant library indeed.

Askercev trg is the biggest square and the most central one in the town. It is characterized with statue in the centre of the square, church of St. Martin and manor. This is where manifestations like New Year's celebration or main manifestations of Pivo in cvetje celebration of beer take place. Many roads enter this square and there are interesting stairs leading toward Lasko castle there.
Oroznov trg is the smallest of 3 old town squares. It is transitional square between Trubarjeva ulica and Askercev trg with few shops like florist's, conditoner's etc.
