    Botkyrka Church

by MalenaN Written May 17, 2015

Already in 1129 a wooden church was built on the site of the present church. And in 1176 the present stone church was built. Of course it has been rebuilt, and added too many times since than.

The triptych in wood is from around 1525, and the beautiful stained glass windows on the northern wall are of a much later date, from the 20th century.

The church is named after Saint Botvid, who came from the area.

In the church there are often baptisms, confirmations, weddings and funerals.
I was there for the baptism of my nephew. After we had something to eat in the nearby Klockargården.
