Foredown Tower: A Historical Observation Point
Foredown Tower, built in 1909, originally served as a water tower for Foredown Hospital, an isolation sanatorium. Its legacy continues today as a historical site in Portslade, Brighton and Hove.
This former water tower is notable for housing one of only two operational camera obscuras in Southeast England since it opened to the public in 1991. The structure represents an important aspect of local history and architecture, standing tall even after the hospital's demolition in 1988–89.
