Not only is Ciao's interior pleasantly lit and comfortable, with decent pop music playing in the background, the waitstaff is terrific. I've been there a handful of times now and am recognized by the same wonderful waitress I always get.
They have over 20 flavors of gelato and ice cream, as well as the most scrumptious-looking menu. It features pages and pages of well-photographed ice cream creations, all of which come to your table looking exactly like they do in the menu. Even the loo is nice.
Favorite Dish (Italian named) chocolate cake with Stracciatella ice cream on the side - the perfect blend of warm and cold. You can order any of the flavors with any of the pastries.
Lasagne - yes, it really does resemble (ice cream and berries) lasagne. If you're in the mood for something fruity but with a hefty amount of vanilla, this will do perfectly. I licked the plate.
After Eight - mint ice cream, chocolate ice cream, syrups and chocolate shavings, complete with a mint wafer. Good to end on for that minty taste.
Gelato designed to look like real food. This I can dig. Steak, ham & eggs, and all sorts of stuff made entirely out of gelato. It's fun just looking at the menu.
Favorite Dish I can enjoy myself with a cup of gelato and a chance to peruse the menu for a while. That's plenty of fun for me.
