A Testament to Georgian Orthodox Tradition: Holy Trinity Cathedral of Tbilisi

Completed in 2004, Holy Trinity Cathedral, also known as Tsminda Sameba, symbolizes the revival of the Georgian Orthodox Church post-Soviet era. It stands prominently on Elia Hill, offering a panoramic view of Tbilisi.

Designed by Archil Mindiashvili, the cathedral combines traditional Georgian architectural styles, soaring 84 meters high adorned with a gold-covered dome. Dominated by its vertical structure, it consists of five aisles and features a vast interior illuminated by natural light. The construction stirred some controversy as it was built over an old Armenian cemetery, but it serves as a spiritual hub, drawing many visitors for prayer and reflection.
