Originally constructed by Mithridates VI in 72 BC, the walls measure 3 meters thick and stretched over 2 kilometers. Key features include 25-meter-high towers and seven gates, among which remain the Kumkapı (Sand Gate) and the Lonca Kapı (Guild Gate). A notable tower near the harbor has been adapted for visitors with a cafe/bar on top, providing panoramic views.
